Posted: Wednesday, Nov 13th, 2013

Junior Aaron Gourdin (middle) was the only runner representing Globe at the Division III State Cross-Country Meet in Phoenix on Saturday, Nov. 9. Gourdin finished 59th with a time of 17:50.
Phoenix Junior Aaron Gourdin had a great meet on Saturday. He competed in the Division III State Cross-Country meet for the third year in a row.

Gourdin was able to run against 165 of the best runners in the division.

He was excited for the opportunity to participate in the meet, but it was hard as this was the only meet that he was not able to participate in with a full team.

Despite not having his teammates to run with, he was able to be competitive with the rest of the runners.

The first mile was run extremely fast with the front runners passing the mile mark at just under five minutes.

Gourdin passed the mile mark at about 5:10. His next two miles were just over six minutes.
