Globe — A two-vehicle accident on Thursday evening near Fry’s led to one fatality.
According to the daily press release sent out by the Globe Police Department, the driver of a vehicle exiting the Fry’s parking lot failed to yield for highway traffic at about 7:59 p.m. on Thursday. As the vehicle crossed the highway, it was then struck by an east-bound vehicle.
One of the drivers later succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. As of Monday morning, no other information had been made available, including the name of the person who died and if there were any traffic citations issued.
The Silver Belt tried to get more information Monday morning, but was told Chief Timothy Truett and the chief investigator for the case both had the day off because of the national holiday.
