Modified: Tuesday, Mar 18th, 2014

Globe pitcher Kylie Begay throws a pitch during the sixth inning of a game against Miami on Thursday, March 13. Begay gave up 12 hits, six runs, struck out five and pitched a complete game. The Tigers won the game 11-6, scoring 10 runs in the first inning.

Miami Globe sent 14 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs in the first inning of their game against the Lady Vandals on Thursday, March. 13, and that is all they would need as they beat Miami, 11-6. After the first two Globe batters reached base, first baseman Savannah Barajas brought them home with a two-run double.

Kylie Begay and Bethany Hudson followed Barajas with two more hits, and third baseman Santana Lira brought two runners home on a single.

After two more hits and another run, the bases were loaded for Jenika Garcia. An error by Miami turned what should have been a single turned into an inside the park home run for Garcia. The Tigers would tack on one more run and two hits. Globe scored the 10 runs off eight hits, two walks and three errors by Miami.
