Seventh inning rally falls short for Vandals

Posted: Wednesday, Mar 26th, 2014

San Tan Foothills pitcher Lauren McCabe throws a pitch to Miami first baseman Aubree Castaneda on Monday, March 17. The Vandals lost the game 9-6. Castaneda went one for three with single and a run scored.
Miami — Despite a standout performance by third baseman Keisha Bowser, the Vandals could not pull off a win, losing 9-6 to San Tan Foothills on Monday, March 17.

With the game tied in the bottom of the second inning, and with teammate Tori Copeland on third base, Bowser tripled to deep left-center field, and gave the Vandals a 1-0 lead.

Bowser’s hit was just a few feet shy of being a home run, and if it were not for the wind blowing in from right field, it would have gone out.

Bowser would reach base two more times and bring in two more runs.
