Most of Miamiís budget tied to proposed sewer system improvements

Posted: Wednesday, Jul 23rd, 2014

Miami ó The Miami Town Council gave unanimous approval to a proposed town budget of more than $25 million at its last meeting.

Councilman Robert Baeza was not present for the meeting.

Although the town has not hired a town manager since the resignation of Jerry Barnes last month, financial consultant Joe Heatherly was present to answer questions from the council.

The majority of the total budget, $22.5 million, is expected to come from loans and grants associated with the planned sewer system. Only $2.4 million will come from the general fund.
