Globe — The Globe-Miami Farmers’ Market opened at its regular time last Saturday morning.

The topic of the day was how much rain everybody got the night before. The monsoon is really producing some greatly needed rain but it is hit and miss. All we know is that most everybody’s garden is loving it.

There were plenty of fresh picked peaches, figs and grapes.

Bob Zache’s Lighthearted Acer Garden produced some tasty watermelon and cantaloupe. Bob gardens in Miami Gardens and his lot is covered in a great variety of fresh produce. He has corn on the cob, several varieties of chilies, loofa, zucchini, garlic and much more. Bob has participated in our market since the very beginning and he is a great plus.

Next week we will be celebrating National Farmers’ Market Week. This is the time we celebrate the fantastic support we get from all of our wonderful customers. We will have many raffles and a cupcake bar.

If you haven’t been to market this will be a good day to come and share a great experience. The bell rings at 8 a.m. and market
