Vandals raise money for Rayden

The Miami Vandal Football Program raised $822 for Rayden Chidester, who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). In addition, Miami PTO gave $500 and a gift basket full of toys. Miami looks to collect payment

Miami -- At the Miami Town Council meeting on Nov. 28, the council approved a proposal from Valley Collection to try to collect unpaid utility bills from 427 accounts. The accounts have more than $300,000 in unpaid debts.

Tip a firefighter event at Judy’s and Irene’s

The 22nd annual Tip a Firefighter event was held on Friday evening at Judy's Cookhouse and Irene's Real Mexican Food. Pictured is Globe police officer John Clements taking an order at Judy's. Sheriff’s Office files murder charge

Gila County -- On Nov. 21 at approximately 12:32 p.m., the Gila County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting an altercation that had occurred on Nov. 20. Deputies responded to a residence located in East Verde Estates, north of Payson, and found a male deceased.

Body of slain police officer escorted through Globe

The procession for Show Low police officer Darrin Reed made its way through Globe on Nov. 9. Reed, a 10-year veteran of the Show Low Police Department who was set to retire in February, was shot and killed on Nov. 8 when he responded to a call in Pinetop-Lakeside. County, state election results

Gila County -- Gila County saw an impressive voter turnout, as 70 percent of registered voters cast a ballot in the Nov. 8 General Election.
In the three contested Gila County races, two challengers won their races, while one incumbent kept his position.
Here are the results, which include the provisional ballots. The results are not yet official.
