The San Carlos Apache Veterans Rodeo Queen Pageant Competition and Horsemanship Competition will be held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Bob Key Memorial Rodeo Arena.
Parking is $5 per vehicle, and admission is $5. There will be free admission for veterans, Tribal dignitaries and Tribal royalty. Applications are now available and can be picked up at

San Carlos falls to Alchesay

The San Carlos football team lost 30-12 to rival Alchesay on Friday night. Quarterback Wilbur Benally III (pictured) led the Braves with 212 passing yards and two touchdown passes. The Braves' record now stands at 0-2.

White Mountain Apache Tribe hosts 89th Annual Fair, Parade, Rodeo

Whiteriver -- The White Mountain Apache Tribe, under the direction of their Tribal Chairman, Ronnie Lupe and the members of the Tribal Council, celebrated their 89th Annual White Mountain Apache Fair beginning the last part of August throughout the Labor Day on Sept. 1st, in the beautiful White Mountains.
