Tom Foster, chair of the Eastern Chapter, Arizona Historical Society (AHS), congratulates Marilyn Freegard, president of Pleasant Valley Historical Society in Young, on the receipt of a Small Museums Grant. According to Foster, there are more than 70 small, certified museums throughout rural Arizona. Pleasant Valley Historical Society and other museums in the state are eligible for small, annual grant awards from AHS. The grants are not to exceed $2,000 and can be used for equipment such as museum quality map cases. AHS gave out more than $30,000 in small grants in 2018.
