Posted

Are you ready to start your New Year’s resolutions off on a great start? Come and join the Globe-Miami Community Concert Association as they usher in the new year with the fun and engaging Bank of Harmony Quartet on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 7 p.m. at High Desert Middle School auditorium.

Forget what you think you know about a cappella. These gents provide a night of nonstop music and comedy with songs spanning the last seven decades! Combine musical excellence with witty, fast pace humor, and you have an evening of sheer entertainment! They sing traditional barbershop as well as some great traditional Doo-Wop tunes. They can mix it up with music from popular artists from the 50s all the way into current music from Justin Timberlake, Twentyone Pilots, Sia, No Doubt, and more. They can throw back to the 70s with some BeeGees and Queen, or hit the classic 50s with a little Johnny Cash and Elvis.

They met while singing with the world famous Dapper Dans of Disneyland and Bank of Harmony was born in 2006. They are made up of four accomplished singers with an incredible breadth of experience between them. They have performed across more than 40 of the states, Europe, Hong Kong, the Caribbean, Japan and more. They have entertained for various cruise lines, theme parks, on national TV, county fairs, major market radio stations, regional theatres, national tours and along the Las Vegas Strip. And, now, they will add the Globe-Miami area to their long list of venues!

All performances will begin at 7 p.m. at High Desert Middle School auditorium.

The main benefit of the full membership is to attend all the remarkable concerts the Association organizes with you, the Globe-Miami community, in mind. Special discounts for students and for families help make the concerts available to everyone. The membership cost is as follows: Adults $40; Students $10; Families $90; Single Parent Families $50; single membership $20.

Memberships are available on the evening of the concert, at the desk at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, at the White Porch in Globe, or by mailing in a membership form from the brochure. You can pick up a brochure which describes the concerts and includes a membership form at several places including both the Globe and Miami Libraries, both the Globe and Miami Senior Centers, the Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts, United Jewelers, the Copper Hen, Vida e caffé, the Gila County Historical Museum, the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center, Cornwell Copper, J. Tickets are mailed during the first week in October. Don’t put it off. You will want to have your tickets and be ready to get a good seat at every concert – especially the virtuoso Thomas Pandolfi.

If still unconvinced about what a great deal this is, there are even more benefits to membership. All out of town guests are welcomed to the concerts free of charge when they are accompanied by a member. Also, there is reciprocity with Associations in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado and this entitles members to attend those concerts free of charge.

That $40 membership goes a long way! Come enjoy the music, meet the performers, and mingle with your friends and neighbors. It’s a great family activity! You won’t be sorry!

It will be a New Year’s resolution you’re sure to keep.
