Freeport-McMoRan will be conducting aerial surveys at its Miami operations through the next week. During this exercise, residents may notice a third-party helicopter with a tether of electronics flying patterns at 200 feet above the ground. The surveys are being coordinated with the Federal Aviation Administration specifically during daylight hours. Except while traveling between the airport and our Miami operations, the surveys will be restricted to mine property. Inquiries should be directed to Freeport’s 24-hour number, 877-629-2609.
