Globe/Miami Read-On Express

Posted

EDITOR: The 2018 Globe/Miami Christmas Read-On Express is scheduled to roll into town on Dec. 8, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Old Train Depot in Globe. Last year, more than 1,452 happy family members experienced the Third Annual Globe/Miami Christmas Read-On Express and we expect even more kids this year.

Each child will receive many surprises such as an ornament, play a holiday games, Mrs. Claus will read a book to them, they can write a letter to Santa, meet elves, visit Frozen town, receive a candy cane, take pictures with Santa, pick out a new book and make a bookmark, ride the Christmas Express bus and receive a cup of hot cocoa and a Christmas cookies, baked by elves, of course.

The Read-On Express will transform the train station to Santa’s workshop so local children can experience going to the North Pole via the magic of a lot of volunteers and our wonderful sponsors for even more fun and surprises. Each child will receive a free ticket for the Read-On Express at their school or you can pick up a ticket at many of our local businesses starting, Dec. 1, 2018 (no ticket is needed for entry).

The Globe/Miami Christmas Read-On Express is devoted to children’s literacy for the Globe, Miami and San Carlos area children. The Read-On Express is dedicated to bringing the love of reading to all children and to their families. Read-On Globe/Miami is a non-profit collaboration, comprising representatives from more than 40 local organizations, government agencies, civic groups, and businesses, which promotes childhood literacy.
