The Globe Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Historic Home and Building Tour on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7. This year’s event has been expanded to include classic cars, music, vendors and a chance to dress up for a “dapper” evening of entertainment and refreshments in the 1920s-’50s mood. As in past years, the chamber is partnering with the Globe Downtown Association and the Copper Cities Players on the evening Historic Cemetery Tour on April 6.
The Home Tour is a guided tour where visitors will be dropped at different homes and commercial buildings to hear the history and stories of each stop. The tour is $20 and includes a commemorative copper souvenir ticket.
On Saturday, April 6, the Cemetery Tour is underway from 6-8 p.m., with visitors shuttled to the Globe Cemetery for a walking tour where they will visit with several historical figures from Globe’s Territorial days. Tickets for this tour are $20 per person.
Combination tickets for the home tour and cemetery tour are $30 if purchased by April 1. Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite or by calling the chamber at 425-4495.
Celebrate the historic days of Globe with a special Dapper Social at the site of the former Globe Café, 396 S. Broad St. Dress in period of 1920s ’50s and enjoy light refreshments, a cash bar and music by Neto Vasquez and Imagine. The event is open from 5 p.m. to midnight, leaving plenty of time to enjoy both the social and the Cemetery Tour that evening as well. Tickets for the Dapper Social will be available on eventbrite.com under the Globe Home/Cemetery Tour Weekend tab or at the chamber.
Downtown Globe will be a blast from the past Saturday with several classic cars parked near photogenic buildings and photographers will be on hand to take photos, whether you’re in your dapper duds or not, and photos will be available for purchase.
Music, artists and vendors will round out the weekend. For more information or tickets, check our website at globemiamichamber.com or call the chamber at 928-425-4495.
