CLAYPOOL — Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding a domestic violence investigation in Claypool, Arizona.
On December 21, 2017, at approximately 1:01 p.m. the Gila County Sheriff’s Office received a call from an individual who was reporting a domestic violence situation between himself and his grandson.
Deputies along and the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force consisting of Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office and Globe Police Department responded to the residence. Deputies made entry and found one male subject in a bedroom with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tri-City Fire Department and Ambulance responded to the scene.
Mark A. Amado, age 25, of Claypool, Arizona later succumbed to his injuries.
This is an active investigation and further information may be released as it becomes available.
