Now that the Memorial Day celebration is behind us, we should continue our military celebration by remembering the 79th anniversary of the landing of Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy, France on June 6, 1944, during WWII. Let us never forget those brave souls who risked all by liberating the oppressed in Europe, beginning the pushback on Nazi Germany and protecting our way of life. And especially let us not forget those Americans who laid down their lives, making the ultimate sacrifice during Operation Overlord.
