Pleasant Valley Days in Young July 19 - 21

The Oxbow Outfits and Payson Petticoats bring their Old West drama to Young, AZ this month: re-enacting the first gunfight of the Pleasant Valley War on Saturday, July 20, during the annual Pleasant Valley Days events. Their performance is scheduled after the High Noon rifle raffle. Pleasant Valley Community Council welcomes volunteers interested in helping with the venerable  tradition of Pleasant Valley Days, during this 30th year for the event. Pleasant Valley Days in Young July 19 - 21.

The Pleasant Valley War is remembered, and local history celebrated, each year on the third weekend of July, during Pleasant Valley Days. The historical society offers an informal talk about the feud, followed by a tour of sites that played a part in the events; there›s a parade, barbecue, crafts displays, and more - see the complete schedule below. Other events include “Ironman” on Saturday in the community center. Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will have peddle car racing on the east side of the community center. Saturday at ‘High Noon’ following the rifle raffle, gunfighter re-enactors will perform and re-create the first gunfight of the Pleasant Valley War.

Friday, July 19

6 a.m.- The Burro Shack and Ice on Midway opens.

7 a.m.-8 p.m. Cherry Creek Store opens.

7 a.m.- The Pleasing Palate opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

8 a.m.-6 p.m. Buddi’s Mini Mart opens.

8 a.m.-2 p.m. Pitchfork Unlimited Farmer’s Market will be open and serving breakfast and lunch. 928-970-1530, 464 Hindu Crossing.

8 a.m. Pleasant Valley Community Center opens.

8 a.m.-6 PVCC will have craft vendors and a concession stand.

11 a.m. Valley Bar opens.

Noon Bruzzi’s Vineyard opens.

Noon -7 p.m. PVCC Beer Garden, Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, Keystone Light, Mike’s Hard Lemonade and Monster Energy drinks will be for sale.

Saturday, July 20

6 a.m.- Burro Shack and Ice on Midway opens.

7.-8 a.m. Cherry Creek Store opens.

7 a.m.- The Pleasing Palate opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

8 a.m.-6 p.m. Buddi’s Gas and Mini mart opens.

8 a.m.-2 p.m. Pitchfork Unlimited Farmer’s Market will be selling breakfast and lunch 928-970-1530, 464 Hindu Crossing.

8 a.m. Team Roping Events begin in PV Arena.

8 a.m. Pleasant Valley Community Center opens.

8 a.m.-6 p.m. PVCC will have craft vendors and a concession stand.

10 a.m. the Pleasant Valley Community Council Parade starts (Hwy 288 will be closed). This year’s Grand Marshall will be Merle Saldeen. Merle has been a generous contributor to our Community fundraisers and events, especially for the youth in our Valley.

10:30 a.m.-1 p.m., under the trees at the Baptist Church, Children’s Old West Activities with volunteers of the PV Historical Society. free, donations accepted.

11 a.m. Valley Bar opens.

11 a.m. and 2 p.m., at the Young Cemetery, there will be Graham and Tewksbury presentations by Bill Brown, a Tewksbury descendant.

HIGH NOON: PVCC Rifle Raffle

Noon Bruzzi’s Vineyard opens.

Noon-7 p.m. PVCC Beer Garden

5 p.m. Live entertainment on the PVCC porch.

Sunday, July 21
