A new shop has popped up downtown which opened on Sept. 11! They will be open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and on Saturday-Sunday they will be open from noon-6 p.m. Pretty Kind Boutique is located at 386 N. Broad St. in Globe.

Sarah Alexander and her partner, Erika Flores, had the idea for the shop at breakfast one morning and a week later they acquired the old Simply Sarah’s building to make their own.

“We wanted to focus on a movement, like being kind, during the COVID-19 pandemic we felt like we were straying away as a society from being kind and we wanted to bring that back,” said Alexander.

The name of the boutique came along from a quote that Flores found one night. “We get so worried about being pretty. Let’s be pretty kind. Pretty funny. Pretty smart. Pretty strong,” by Britt Nicole.

They wanted to give back to their community and give the town a new place where girls and women could shop around so they can feel pretty and confident, not only on the outside but on the inside as well.

The clothing in the store appeals to a wide variety of ages and these outfits will fit any sense of style whether you are still a teenager or if you are a bit older. They also are size inclusive and have a wide variety of sizes ranging from XS to 3X.

“We want to provide another place for the community and somewhere where girls can come and bring their moms or their girlfriends and shop around and have fun and feel pretty,” says Flores.

They are hoping to highlight some of the people in the community and they are wanting to make a push to promote and show how much kindness there is, they also want to try to breathe more life into the community.

This store carries a lot of unique clothing from small companies and brands so that they can help support other small businesses by carrying their brand. They also strived to have most of their products made in the US and to sell clothing that you can’t find on websites like Amazon.

At some point, Alexander and Flores are hoping to create a website for their shop and will eventually offer to ship. Right now they have an Instagram account up, @prettykindboutique, and they offer curbside pickup. So if you see something you like, just send them a message!
