Posted

Carolyn Jean Castillo was born Carolyn Jean McBride at the Inspiration Hospital in Miami, Arizona on Aug. 8, 1961, the youngest child of Lloyd Elvin McBride and Bonnie Joann McBride (nee Hamilton). Carolyn passed away May 13, 2022, in Globe, Arizona. She was 60.

Carolyn was loving and caring, with a heart as big as the world. She enjoyed being with friends and family (including her beagles), visiting her sons and helping care for her mom in her later years. Her passion was gardening. Her specialty – roses which graced her yard with fragrant beauty every year. Motorcycle rides and picnics, big trucks and roller coasters brought out her adventuresome spirit. On her outings Carolyn enjoyed shopping in antique stores and thrift shops, having a special knack for finding unique treasures like angels and unicorns for her home or friends.

Christmas was her favorite season. Carolyn decorated her home from top to bottom, inside and out, transforming every room into a holiday masterpiece. She enjoyed giving gifts, baking and making sure there was Christmas for everyone in the family. The season always included the Toy Ride with her husband, Frosty.

An amazing wife and an amazing mom, Carolyn will always be in our hearts - forever loved and truly missed. In the words of her granddaughter, “You are Our Sunshine.”

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Faustino (Frosty) Castillo of Globe, Arizona; her sons, Jeremy Leap (Brandy) of Mesa, Arizona, Robert Lintner (Spring) and David Lintner (Ashley) of Elko, Nevada; her brothers, George L. McBride (Nancy) and John E. McBride (Elaine) of Globe, Arizona; her sister Diana Parsons (Erick) of Georgia; 13 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; and her beagles, Bella and Sugar, whom she loved to the end.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Sheri Leap, who died in an auto accident at a very early age.
